What is meant by dental crowns and bridges?

A dental crown or a cap is used to entirely cover a damaged tooth. Besides strengthening a damaged tooth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance, shape or alignment.

A bridge is used to replace missing one or more teeth. Gaps le by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shi into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite, gum disease or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
